Alternative Spring Break

March 5-12, 2011

“The phrase ‘Alternative Spring Break’ is becoming a buzz word among those who would like to have an alternative to what's seen as normal spring break. Alternative spring breaks generally mean volunteering, a very rewarding way to spend your spring break week.”

- from About.com/student travel

Basillica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DCAlternative Spring Break (ASB) 2011 for the Catholic Campus Ministries of the Diocese of Charlotte, NC will have a different “twist”. Our upcoming ASB will incorporate Service and Pilgrimage and take place Sat. to Sat. March 5-12, 2011…so MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

While our itinerary is still being finalized we plan to take a trip up "north" with stops in Baltimore, Washington, DC and Philadelphia. Our tentative agenda includes visits to National Shrines, seminaries and Motherhouses of a variety of Religious Congregations. Opportunities for "service" experiences in Philadelphia are an integral part of this trip.

Meetings to plan for this trip, fundraising to help defray your personal financial obligation and a mini retreat are all part of the process we will use to make sure we are ready to take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity to visit some of the “hot spots” of our Catholic faith.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested and would like to receive e-mail updates of this event. Contact Sr. Eileen Spanier, GNSH at e_spanie@uncg.edu
If, in the past, you have participated in an ASB Trip and would like to be a TEAM MEMBER contact Sr. Eileen immediately.
